Transport in Dubai

We are not going to beat around the bush, on our side we immediately decided to rent a car (a hyundai élentra, very nice, well in fact it had to be a nissan sunny, yuck) Thank you to the lessor for the upgrade Because you shouldn't fool yourself in Dubai by tram or taxi, it's restrictive and if you move around a lot, it's more expensive than renting. In 6 days we covered 600 km and spent 41 euros on fuel. Must say that the gps (google) was quite west with the outsized dimensions of the interchanges, the poor guy was lost (not just him, by the way!). When he tells you "turn right you have to know how far? because with 8 lanes the right goes from the first to the 3rd lane!!! So we screwed up several times and I think 100 the number of terminals that we made too much! But it also allowed us to come across neighborhoods that we would not have seen without these orientation errors. Like what managing everything is not always the best thing! Speaking of gps, it is not included in the car so above all do not be reluctant to take out a phone package on site because Dubai without gps is impossible. I will come back to telephony in another post. Price level by booking 3 months in advance I got the car for 157 euros for 6 days to which you add 50 euros of insurance (I hate shit so tanpis we pay to be quiet) and finally 41 euros of lead free 95. So 248 euros per stay, or 41 cents per km. The price of absolute freedom, of discovering an incredible city and its desert (50 km away). No regrets. we have a couple of friends who also went there (no car) they didn't do 1/4 of what we discovered, big frustration! A word of advice, don't wait to book early, prices increase by 1 to 2 euros every day, so if you wait too long, it can quickly add up. On my side I lost at least 20 euros waiting. I could have had the car for just over 130 euros, a bargain!

2021 Hyundai Elentra unleaded gasoline engine 5 seats, very comfortable drives very easily. A real good surprise

For the tram and the metro, it serves the most touristic areas, it is air-conditioned. On the other hand, not sure of being able to go to Global Village for example, so it remains limited For the taxi, obviously no destination limit. On the other hand, due to one outing per day over 6 days, it can quickly add up. Especially since the city is very large.
