A corner of paradise in the south of France

I could not start this blog without sharing with you the nugget that we had unearthed several years ago. Tired of going camping for almost always this year we decided, me and kitty, to try a cottage. We had absolutely no knowledge so the research, once again, was very difficult and tedious I won't lie if I tell you that I must have skimmed through hundreds of ads As always, our budget for 4 was limited, around 400 euros for the rental and for a week, which means that in the south it was almost mission impossible in the middle of August. But it was without counting on our perseverance, and it pays We ended up coming across a "leboncoin" ad, a bit like last minute, in June I think... Contact made with the owner, first by email and then by phone (and wow, the southern accent sounded good), already what happiness..., charming lady, very friendly. It looked pretty good but frankly we were still not very reassured, 320 euros per week in the middle of August, where is the scam??

The holidays have therefore finally arrived, and frankly after a very hot summer on the construction sites, I assure you that we are looking forward to the holidays. So we packed up and hit the road, at night as usual. Less traffic, children sleep and it's less time for them even if the comfort of a car is not worth a good bed.. Around 8 am, breakfast stop, time to rest a little and recharge the batteries. already 8 hours of road in the legs, it's dying !!!! fortunately we are only 150 kms from the goal (out of the 700 to do) We take advantage of the landscape, the rental is only accessible around 3 p.m. so there is no point in rushing. Meal for lunch in a well-known fast food restaurant, the children are not fans of restaurants and to tell the truth we are starting to be really tired and we can't wait to get there... The last kilometers worries us, it goes up, it's tortuous, we wonder what we're going to fall on and what we're going to be able to do in this lost corner...

The owner arrives and welcomes us with a smile full of sunshine and such a divine accent. She takes care of showing us the places and there ..... Our fatigue disappears with each new space, the cottage first. Small kitchen with a dining area, a magnificent bathroom all in travertine with a small window that overlooks a stone wall and a sky .... of a blue .... then comes the living room, which will also serve as a bedroom for a week, in a stone vault The set is about 45 m², fully air-conditioned. with TV for the boys (practical in the evening before sleeping) and safe...everything is extremely charming

It should be noted that the cottages are located in a charming village, very quiet, at the top of a hill. The cottage itself is in an alley where there is hardly anyone, maximum security for young children And then comes the visit of the courtyard which serves a laundry room, toilets, a large games room with billiards and table football (free), room of about 50 m² very bright with a small lounge area. Pascal and Sophie leave their children's bicycles available (the same age as our boys) as well as a ping-pong table. This room leads directly to the outdoor kitchen where a fridge allows you to store your ice cream and cold drinks. a table and a few chairs and finally a magnificent swimming pool, all in pebbles, made by Pascal with extraordinary taste. Needless to say how thrilled we were to have discovered such a nugget, and I remind you of it for 320 euros the first week of August in 2013!!!

And you know, the icing on the cake??? I tell you After this incredible visit, I hasten to ask Sophie (yes since 2013 we ended up becoming friends) to pay for my rental (because yes, we had only sent a check to reserve, which Sophie never took of) And Sophie answers me with this accent that we love so much "trannquil, enjoy your vacannnces, we'll see about that the last day!!!" Incredible, magical all the way. The or most rental companies ask for the entire rental before your arrival, here it is a magical couple who receive us and we only pay at the end... I would have cried with joy so much I was to the angels (I wonder if that was not the case. Since 2013 it's our paradise, We love them, The guys became very good friends with theirs and we went back there until last year; We introduced this place to our relatives. I made them a facebook page and a Wix site which unfortunately has never been referenced.
